Stay Safe Online

Your safety is our top priority. Follow these guidelines to protect yourself while using Samyak Matrimony.

Online matrimony is an excellent way to find a life partner — but like any online interaction, it requires basic precautions. While we manually verify profiles and enforce strict community standards, please use your own judgment and follow these safety guidelines.

Protect Personal Info

Never share bank details, OTPs, passwords, or your home address with anyone you've met online.

Verify Photos

Insist on multiple recent photos and a brief video call before any in-person meeting.

Involve Family

Once a profile looks promising, involve your parents/guardians early. Marriage is a family decision.

Public First Meetings

Always meet for the first time in a public place — restaurant, café, or our office. Take a family member along.

DO — Best Practices

  • Verify the profile — check if photos look genuine, profile details are consistent, and there's mobile/photo verification
  • Use our messaging system — keep conversations on Samyak Matrimony so we can help if anything goes wrong
  • Take it slow — get to know the person over weeks before sharing personal info or meeting
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it usually is. Block and report immediately
  • Bring a chaperone — never go to first meetings alone, even if the other person seems trustworthy
  • Cross-check details — search the person's name + city online; ask common contacts if possible
  • Report suspicious profiles — use the Report button on any profile that seems fake or fraudulent

DON'T — Red Flags & Scams

  • Never send money — no genuine match will ask you for money, gifts or "emergency loans". This is the #1 scam.
  • Never share OTPs/passwords — Samyak Matrimony staff will never ask for your password or OTP
  • Don't share documents prematurely — Aadhaar, PAN, bank passbook should never be sent to a match
  • Don't fall for "abroad" stories — be extra cautious of profiles claiming to be NRI, military overseas, or working abroad asking for money
  • Don't ignore inconsistencies — if photos look professional/borrowed, story changes, or person refuses video calls — walk away
  • Don't promise dowry — demanding or offering dowry is illegal and against our community standards
  • Don't share home address — until family meetings are confirmed and you trust the person
